Back in 2009, my son called me and told me about a horse someone was giving away. They could not keep him any longer. I was on the other side of town and prayed, "Lord if this is your Will, then have it to happen". When I got there, a few people were on their phones. I walked up and asked is the horse still available. The gal said, "yes", so I said, "I will take him!" I called a friend to see if I could board the horse at her place and she agreed. I walked him there and that was the start of the Rescue. The Rescue is named after him (Rusty). He had several owners before, and his old name was Grandpa but he didn't look like a grandpa to me, so I renamed him Rusty because of his color. He was 34 years old and very well loved when he died of cancer. Rusty was a perfect horse in every way.....to me!
And with that beginning, we have been blessed with the opportunities and enough help to be able to save many other horses and also a variety of farm animals. With hard work, prayers and the goodness of others, we will continue to grow our organization to help as many animals as we can.
